This is really disappointing that some Malaysian politicians are even considering this question, when English is now the most widely spoken language in the world.
As a malaysian myself, i feel so pai seh and sad to even bring this topic up.The matter of fact is:
Our politicians should be answering the questions posed to them, instead of shooting off another question just to get away with having to answer the question!
Look lets face the facts, that if the real concern is that if we make (if we already havent)English a compulsory language, that the rural students will fail. Then let me say this by, saying either they arent studying hard enough or the education system is not doing its job.
Yes english should be made COMPULSORY to ensure that students nowadays are equipt with the necessary skills and language to go far in the modern world today.
*if they are aspiring farmers and fishermen then we can excuse them if they fail SPM*
